Background: Tomoe was born to a Japanese mother and an Italian father. Daddy was a senator, so young Tomoe grew up in a world of relative ease, never in want of anything. In fact, she was rather a spoiled child. She went to private school, mingling with the future movers and shakers of the political and economic world. After graduation from high school, she had an automatic sponsorship for entry into Starfleet Academy, the most prestigious paramilitary institution on Earth. Although Daddy's influence got her into the Academy, it wasn't enough to make her a good student. Tomoe wasn't at the top of her class, nor was she at the bottom. She simply had a set of priorities, some of which precluded her academics. She graduated with a major in Navigational Studies, and was (barely) accepted as a command-track helmswoman aboard the USS Yorktown. After her two years in training, she was stationed aboard the Aeon Cluster Outpost, a remote station along the Romulan Neutral Zone border. It was there that she picked up her slight knowledge of the Romulan language, from monitoring comm traffic. Upon reaching the rank of Lt., she was transferred again to Starfleet Command Jupiter, serving as a launch bay coordinator. Now with a fresh promotion to Lt. Commander, she is on her way to the challenge of first officer aboard the recommissioned USS Republic.

Personality: Perhaps because of her early years under her father's shadow, or something in her own psyche, Tomoe is classified as "aggressive", both in her professional and personal life. She usually exercises good judgment, but in a situation where she is in command, she will always pick the most immediate solution as it appears to her. On first impression, she tends to be intimidating to subordinates or potential romantic conquests.
